In November of 2007, we welcomed the arrival of two little Nubian does, Pruittville’s KNE Prosperity and Pruittville’s KNE Lei Lani, to Southern Touch Farm. These kids come from the farm of Tim Pruitt and his family who live in Louisiana. We have enjoyed meeting and coming to know the Pruitt family and have admired their Pruittville Nubians over the last several years. When we found out the doe kids he had to offer were sired by his Kastdemur bred buck we felt it would be a double plus for us to add them to our Nubian line up of does. Tim was a great help to Sarah and I would like to express how much we appreciate his allowing her to become the owner of two of his lovely little doe kids! Thank you so much, Tim!

Prosperity’s dam, Posie, placed 8th as a 3- & 4-year-old at the 2003 and 2004 ADGA National shows. In 2006, her daughters held 3rd place Produce of Dam at the National Show. We note that Pruittville’s Pretty Posie is not only the dam of Prosperity but is also the great-grandmother of our second Pruittville doe named, Lei Lani.

Kastdemur’s Next Expedition Owned by Tim Pruitt

Lei Lani’s mother is Lantana. Lantana’s dam (Lei Lani’s maternal grand-dam) is Nantucket (92EEEE) who received a 3rd place Sr. yearling award at the ADGA National show in Des Moines. Nantucket also placed 3rd as a 4-year-old, 3rd udder at the 2006 ADGA National Show in Indianapolis. Nantucket was twice awarded Best Udder in Show in the Spring of 2007. Nantucket and her maternal sister, Honeysuckle (90VVEE), were 3rd place Produce of Dam (by Posie) at the 2006 ADGA National Show in Indianapolis. Nantucket, daughter of Posie, is the half-sister of “our” Pruittville KNE Prosperity.

Lantana’s sire is Legend. Tim Pruitt indicates Legend is long, tall and level. He also states Legend is upstanding and walks with outstanding width between the hocks as well as having a very high and wide escutcheon. He has good spring of rib and possesses excellent breed character. Legend’s sire, Tornado, is line bred on CH Flora Farm Clover who was the dam of GCH +*B Heatherwood’s Clovers Saint. Additional bucks of notice on this extended pedigree are Flora Farm Padrone, Flora Farm Crockett (Maternal brother to Saint), GCH C/F Pan and Bar-W Santana J. Bar-W Santana J. was bred to Had Gadya Elahbred and they produced the well-known doe named Faith Farm ESJ Eve. Eve bred to C/F Blaise produced the doe named Faith-Farm Blaze of Glory. We find these animals in the pedigree of our doe Masayla and her daughter, Southern Touch PMAS Valley Girl.
