Prudence’s call name is
“Prudy." She is a Broken Chamoisee who easily won her Grand Champion status as a
young doe. We adopted Prudy and found that what was once a perfect udder was lop-sided because a single buck
kid had been allowed to nurse only one side of her udder. This does not take away from the complete package that
this doe brings to our lineup of Alpines.
Prudy died in June of 2007. After kidding, she began to have problems with her kidneys and we were unable to
turn her situation around for her. It is believed she went into kidney failure. Along with her went our joy of a
constant and loving companion as she was one of those girls who would stay at your side whenever the opportunity
brought us to be in her area. She was a prolific head-rubber and loved to lean on her people making sure she
shoved everyone else away so she could get our undivided attentions. She was a fine old gal who we enjoyed
greatly and feel it was our privilege to have her as part of our lives for such a long time.
Prudy gave us one last doe in 2007 whose name is Phenomenal (Barn name is Phennie) so you see, Prudy lives
on!! We anticipate seeing more of her prodigy to arrive here at Southern Touch Farm from her daughters, Porcelin
and Phenomenal, in years to come.
